When the crane needs to stop or decelerate, the brake control system will control the braking force of the brake and the speed of the brake wheel through the electrical control system and hydraulic control system. The braking force of the brake depends on the material and diameter of the brake wheel. Generally speaking, the material of the brake wheel is steel with a diameter of 1.5-2.5 meters. By changing the diameter of the brake wheel or using different materials, different braking forces can be achieved.
Friction plates are installed on the brake wheel, and when the brake wheel rotates, friction is generated between the friction plates and the brake disc, thereby achieving the braking effect. The larger the diameter of the brake wheel, the greater the braking force. Meanwhile, the material of the brake wheel also affects the magnitude of the braking force. Generally speaking, the braking force of cast iron brake wheels is greater than that of steel brake wheels.
